1. Sour Power Belts

If you've been to a candy store and grabbed some belts for your bag, they're most likely Sour Power. Why don't they venture out from candy stores? That's a great question.

2. Sour Power Straws

Sour Power (Dorval Trading Co.) knows what they're doing. These are a little more available than the belts, but still not available enough. You can find them in New York pretty easily.

3. Gustaf's Sour Laces

Just another incredible sour candy that they make hard to find. Buy in bulk off Amazon. Do not buy from Candy Club. We Hate Candy Club.

4. Gimbal's Sour Pucker-Up Gummy Lips

These are mainly just found during the Valentine's candy season, but they're a reason you can argue it's the best candy season. Beware of the copycats, they're not as good.

5. Rips Stix

From the makers of Rips (Foreign Candy Company). This company is extreme hit or extreme miss, but these are something special. Relatively new (2019), so we'll hopefully see them in QT's soon.

6. Rips

OG Rips, these are another one of the company's extreme hits. These are more widely available than the Stix. They are older as well (2003). They're in all QT's, and tons of gas stations.

7. Jolly Rancher Gummies Sours (Rips jumped 'em due to overwhelming feedback from y'all, love it!)

Finally a candy you can find in stores, and finally a good new candy from one of the candy giants. Would like less yellow, but that is big candy's signature: way too much of the worst flavor.

(7.) Zours - RIP (still #7, but not taking up whole ranking anymore)

Had to keep on the list because the wound is still fresh (and maybe we'll see 'em again, please). Some of the best sour candy ever. The green Zour was one of the best single flavors ever.

8. Sweet & Sour - Sour Belts (NEW to rankings!)

A Houston candy company (est. 2007) that recently revamped their product and brand with very clear influence from Sour Strips (est. Houston 2019). Well we're very glad they did due to Sour Strips' depressing change in product (scroll down to hear more. message us if you want to talk about it. please we need to)

9. Gustaf's Sour Piglets

Gustaf, we love you. Candy Club, we hate you. For context, all they do is repackage candy and price gouge the consumer, they don't make any actual candy.

10. Gustaf's Sour Apple Buttons

Yet another hit by Gerrit J Verburg Co. (maker of Gustaf's). You may have found these in a candy store or randomly in the mountains for some reason.

11. Sour Strips Bites (New)

100x better than air head extremes bites. Great candy, and we love the strategy. The sacrifice somewhat involved here though, tears.. (see #15 or later)

12. Sour Patch Kids

If you can find a bag like the ones to the left, they're Top 5. You just don't see that anymore. They're more like the pic on the right (sad). The Big Kids are best bet now (more sour likely).

13. Sour Smurfs (Haribo)

Great candy right here from one of the big guys. Great texture, great sour, and great flavor.

14. Sour Patch Hearts

Similar idea to any gummy lips you'll see during valentine's season, just in a heart shape. Great, but not really great.

15. Sour S'ghetti (Haribo)

In their heyday, easily Top 10, maybe Top 5. But just like so much of the sour candy we see today, they're rarely fresh anymore and much less sour.

(Previous - 3. Exciting new startup filling this exact gap in the candy market: bringing an amazing sour belt to all stores. Their belt is so close to being #1, but Sour Power's rainbow gives them the slight edge.)

15. (Previous 3.) Sour Strips

Due to insane demand, they were forced to switch manufacturers. That's how good they were... It hurts to type this, but this switch feels like Sour Strips became part of Big Candy. Everything about the product was compromised: taste, texture, sour, I digress... At least it got one of us to cut back from 15 packs a week to 2, I guess...

16. UHA Shigekix Super Sour Gummy Drops (Japan)

The name is correct, these are super sour. Small drop-shaped gummies with great texture. The sour is more like that of Zours than the traditional sour candy.

17. Rip Rolls

Came out with Rips (2003). These are great, but would love a version where not individually wrapped. So much potential with this company.

18. Trolli Sour Brite Octopus

All Trolli really does nowadays is reshape their gummy worms. These are the best and most consistent shape though.

19. Air Heads Soft Filled Bites

These are surprisingly good. All good flavors actually. Better than the Sourfuls. But still all we want is for Air Heads to change back the Xtremes bites texture, and to seriously reevaluate the Xtremes.

20. Push Pop Gummy Rolls

Wow the potential. Great tasting candy, yet worst possible packaging. Making a chewy candy push out like your hard candy just doesn't work, Push Pop. So hard to eat, sometimes can't even finish.

21. Sour Goldbears (Haribo)

The classic goldbears in sour form. We do appreciate that a big candy company would think to make a sour option of one of they're best candies. They're good, but not gonna knock yours socks off.

22. Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers Minis

Something about the minis just hit different than the regular sized worms. A similar phenomenon is seen with M&M's. Aaand that's enough non-sour candy talk, sorry.

23. Cry Baby Sour Chews

We've got an interesting one here at #23. They look like they're gonna be bad, but they're surprisingly good and very sour. Wouldn't seek them out, but if they're at the gas station, yep.
